Christmas album

CD album

I opened a document on Photoshop and changed the resolution to 300 pixels/inch I also changed the height to 5cm and the width to 5cm. I then went on to www.brusheezy.com and typed in christmas and christmas tree's and then once I found ones I liked I clicked on download, open, extract files, and then saved them to my network documents into the 'Brushes' folder that I had created before hand. By creating a separate folder for my brushes so that it was easier for my to access them and find them quicker. After I had downloaded the tools I wanted I went back onto photo shop and clicked on the brush tool and clicked on the arrow next to the brush and then clicked on the arrow next to the maser Diameter and then selected load brushes. Once I had selected the brush tool It tok me to the brush palette and my brushes where at the bottom of the list, once I had chosen them I changed the colour of them by clicking the square colour picker.

After all of this I then changed the background of the CD album to a light grey and wrote the title 'Christmas Album' which I had chosen and downloaded the font from website dafont.com

Header ideas for my magazine on Photoshop

Header ideas for my magazine.

When designing my Masthead on photo shop I had to firstly create my page which was 300 pixels per inch, 21 in width and 29 in height. After this I went on to Dafont.com and chosen a font which was Serif font because my article is serious so I need my audience to understand the seriousness, and I want the font to look girly and make the audience not think my article is very important. After this I then clicked onto select, load selection, modify, expand, and then I was able to change the font size I wanted and how bold and large I wanted to make it.
If I made a mistake I knew that I could press command and hold the letter z down to go back. Once I had done this I then clicked on to the the Fx tool which enabled me to give my title a more glossy look and a two tone colour effect.
After all of this I then changed the colour of it so I has a choice of things that I could chose from.

Language techniques

Informal writing 1st/2nd person

Anorexia and eating disorders in my opinion is a big part of todays culture, over 160,000 people suffer from disorders like this every year. I think this is caused by magazines, models, seeing images on the internet which are all photo shopped to improve there looks, when in reality its not natural or healthy! People in my eyes will be self conscious about they way they look by all the dieting that is shown all over the front of magazines and even on the TV, after christmas there is quotes on magazines that say 'pigged out over christmas' or new diet plans that are shoved in people's faces. For example I saw a lot of dieting adverts on TV just in the middle of shows that weren't relevant to anything to do with food, such as 'diet chef' where they deliver the food right to your door. Do you agree that dieting is overly exaggerated? All this is a bad influence on people and the way they feel about there self, people always want to have the 'perfect' body and will go to extreme measures to achieve it. Even from a child children are playing with Barbie dolls that where claimed to have the 'perfect' body, but if they where real they would be underweight and most likely extremely ill. Whats your opinion on anorexia?

Writing in the Third person

There is a 13% increase in the number of eating disorders between the years of 2003 and 2009. Research shows that the highest rate of cases for anorexia is in girls aged between 15 to 19 and boys between 10 and 14. Eating disorders are one of the most common new mental health problems that are affecting teenage girls in todays society. Experts are saying that the younger generation has increasing pressure to look and be 'perfect' which is effecting the health of the whole generation. Also around about 50% of people with eating disorders meet the criteria of depression. Eating disorders/anorexia usually show around the teenage years but can develop later in life.
