In Design

Add caption
I created a document in word design and kept the settings on A4, after I have done this I changed my number of pages to 3 pages and then added 3 columns. And then i make sure my A-Master was on A 2-3. Then I clicked on the rectangle frame tool, and then I drew boxed between the lines to where I wanted my text to go. Then to make sure my lines where all aliened I clicked on view, grid +gides and then baseline grid. After this I clicked on the 'T' tool which makes you able to write text into your columns and clicked on the first box. Then there is a little box at the bottom left of the column once I had clicked on this I then clicked on to the column next to the first one and then the text that I was going to write would follow on into the next box, and I done this for all my columns. I made sure my text was at size 9 and then I changed my font, color, and size to how I wanted, to change the color I clicked on the 'Fill' tool and then changed the color of my text.
To add a picture on to my design I clicked on to File and then place and then control and click and then inserted the photo I wanted to.

Vampire tutorial

Before

After

When I edited this I made sure the resolution was on 300 pixels when I created a new document, I then clicked on the sponge tool and made sure mode was on unsaturated. After this I also made sure the flow was on 78-80 %. Then I went over the face with the sponge this turned the face into a grey colour. I then went on to the burn tool and changed the range on to shadow and the flow needed to be on 50%, once I had done this I went over her eyes and her lips, this changed them into a darker colour and it created dark shadows around her eyes which made her look more evil and it turned her lips into a dark red colour.

After this I zoomed in on to the teeth and went on to the magnetic lasu tool, after this I clicked control and clicked on the photo, after this I then went on to layer and then copy, then edit- transform- war, and then I clicked around the tooth I wanted to make bigger and dragged it down to create a vampire fang.

Healing brush tool

Before
After

To edit the photo and edit the spots I used the healing tool, to do this I created a new layer and then set all the aligned sample to all layers. I then help the 'alt' button down and pressed on a part of the skin that was clear of spots and then clicked on the areas that had spots and it covered/removed them. This type of photoshop tool will be used in magazine's to make models look more flawless.

Composition Photos

Composition photos: I set the camera at how many seconds I wanted to use to take the photo and then took photos in action but I had to make sure I had the right setting so the photo came out in focus and not blurry and showed all the detail.

This photo of jumping off a wall was sat at 1/250 seconds so I got him as he was jumping off the wall and it wasn't blurry, If i didn't set it at this setting and just left it at normal it would of came out not in focus and blurry.

This photo was also set at 1/250 seconds which was as the leaves where getting thrown in the photo was taken, and it captured the leaves as they where falling.

This photo was set at 1/320 seconds because it was faster that someone jumping off a wall and was faster movement.
This photo was taken at 1/4000 seconds because the car was moving quickly and had to be taken as quickly as possible, and so the photo didn't come out blurry.
This photo of jumping over  tennis net was set on 1/500 because he was doing a running start so I had to push the button once he had had a running start and got closer to the net.

These photos where set at 4 seconds because they where moving fast and captured the pattern made by the torch being moved.

Camera angles

When taking these photos I took into consideration my shot techniques, the use of tilt, extreme long shot, close up, big close up, medium close up (waist up). I also used the eye line of third which shows that if there eyes are at the top of the shot it shows that they are important because it draws your attention strait to them. Eye line in the middle, which the audience can relate to them. Eyer line at the bottom which means they are weak and venerable. If they are also positioned at the left hand side this shows that they are important because you read from left to right so it draws your attention strait to them. Camera tilted upwards at the person on the photo shows that they are important and have power, Camera angle looking down shows weak and venerable.
Frames/ door ways show affect because it makes you look through the door way which draws attention to that. Line which the attention is focused on that or following things such as a path.

This photo was taken on a tilt to show different effects and how to use different techniques and how the shot distance is long distant.

This photo shows a long shot and the line affect which draws your attention to look strait down the path and at the person. When you look at the photo your eyes automatically follow the path, which draws you to someone/something at the end.

This photo shows that he is important because he is stood at the left side of the photo and the camera is tilted up to him which shows that he has power and he is looking down at us, the audience. His eye line is medium between half and the top so shows that he is powerful and important.
This photo shows the door way as a frame, and he is stood at the right hand side which shows he is not very important and his eye line is mid point which means the audience can relate to him.The door way draws attention to him because it makes you look through it and the attention is on him.

This photo is shown a medium long shot which draws your attention strait to him, he is in mid centre of the photo which shows he is not very important, the rule of thirds he is in the second point and his eye line is in the middle which means the audience can relate.

Front cover

Induction evaluations

The strengths and weaknesses of my product and the skills I have gained

The skills I have gained are how to focus the camera correctly, I have also improved on my angle and lighting skills. The Weakness of my product is that I need to learn how to use PhotoShop more advanced so I can edit my work efficiently, my title isn't really an eye catching title because I was unsure on how to edit my title properly, but after I have being shown it again I can do it properly. The strengths of my work is that the camera angle of the photo in the back ground is a good angle and the sun rays is giving the photo extra effect.

I also learnt how to focus the camera up and not take blurry photos, the first time I went out with the camera to take photos when I uploaded them onto the computer they were blurry and out of focus. I looked at the camera and how to focus it up and went back out and took more photos and they were clear and detailed. I can now take photos correctly and they can be detailed and focused correctly. Another skill I learned was how to add circles on to my magazine and fill it with a colour and add text onto it to give it more affect and make it more noticeable.

Also another weakness of my product is that the magazine doesn't look appealing, If it were in a shop it would not catch my attention to pick up and read, that is some thing I will need to improve for next time. I would also say I need to work on my Photoshop techniques and learn more about it and how to use it. Another skill I gained was how to add a two tone affect to me header, which made it stand and and look different. I also learnt how to add things onto my text for example a bar code. I also learnt how to add: Contour, texture, Stroke, Inner Shadow and Inner Glow.

Photography

When I used to camera it was on auto focus, and I learnt how to zoom in when taking photo and how to adjust the focus ring on the camera so the photo was not blurry. At first I couldn't do this and the photos came out blurry but once I had practised with the camera when I went back out and taken more photos they were in focus as i adjusted the focus ring on the front of the camera.I learnt that portrait mode is where you turn the camera side ways so you can get the full length of the person in the photo, Land scape angle is when the camera is the normal angle and it gets from chest up on a person. I taken a few of my photos in landscape mode instead of portrait mode and this caused a few problems because I was getting the full body in instead on the the chest up.

This photo is an example of one of my photos that where not in focus. The photo was not in focus because I hadn't adjusted the focus lens correctly.

My first set of photos where not in focus, but once I had refocused the camera and went out and taken more photos they where improved and in focus. I learnt about the lighting angles and which lighting makes the photo looks more affective, I thought about the back grounds of my photos, I chose the background to be next to a tree and the trunk of the tree gave effect to the photo and make the person I was taking a photo of stand out more and made the details stand out. The lack of skills had an affect on my photography skills because they weren't as clear and weren't in the rule of 3 or in the T-stance.

Photoshop

When I used photoshop the tools I used where: Fill, Add text, Circle, Selector, I changed the colour of my text and I adjusted the size of it and the font and added effects to it. I found the editing the text bit difficult and the copying the photo to another page but I learnt how to do it in the end. I found adding text and changing the font and size of the text easy. I would say my text was well controlled all the sub heading where the same font and size, and the Header was a bigger size and different font. I added a two tone effect of blue at the top of the 'Form' to the header to make it have more affect and stand out. I used white font for the text as the sub headings and I picked the the title to be blue because it brings out the blue in the T-shit the model for my magazine was wearing. The white also links in with the models T-shirt and jacket, colour coordinated. I would improve the text font and the angle of the picture I taken for my back ground, and the detail I wrote on it. And I would spend more detail on the little things to give it that little bit more of an affect. My strengths of my magazine I would say where my coordination skills and my photo lighting.

Photo example

This is a good example of my photography skills. I went out and took more photos as the other ones i had takes were blurry and out of focus. This photo is a good example of my improvement in my camera skills, the angle is better and the lighting is better because the sun raze is an effect onto the photo.

Photo example

This photo is also a bad example of a photo because the photo is out of focus so this makes the photo blurry/clear and doesn't show the detail. I need to improve on my camera skills and making sure that the camera is in focus so my photos don't come out blurry again or out of focus. I could also improve on my camera angle skills and making sure that the lighting is right.

Photo example

This was a photo that was taken for the front cover of my Magazine cover for media. This photo could not be used because the camera was out of focus, so the photo came out blurry and it didn't show all of the detail. Next time I go out to take photos I will have to make sure and check my camera's are in focus and are clear.
